The Channel IslandsClose to the United Kingdom and main land Europe, the Channel Islands are a group of islands in the English Channel, off the French Coast of Normandy. The total population is approximately 160,000. The Channel Islands fall into two separate self-governing areas of jurisdiction: the Bailiwick of Guernsey and Bailiwick of Jersey, both British Crown dependencies and not part of the United Kingdom.
Being the largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey is one of the world’s major global finance hubs with the island offering a sophisticated and comprehensive infrastructure of laws and regulations. The quality of businesses and hence, legal work generated from them is very high.
Guernsey also has a well-established legal system, and has developed into a well-regulated and internationally recognised centre of finance excellence.
