About the role
As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for all legal and regulatory matters impacting the business in Australia. An experienced lawyer with 12 -15 years’ commercial law experience will enjoy the responsibility, autonomy, and strategic input which this role offers.
You will lead a small team of lawyers and compliance officers, and you will be responsible for a variety of matters, including commercial law, technology law, compliance and regulatory relationships, company secretarial, workplace matters, disputes, and strategic projects. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, and management of the organisation’s compliance and policy frameworks in Australia and New Zealand. You will also work closely with various businesses and the Leadership Team to manage risk.
About you
You will have corporate and commercial law experience including technology law, exposure to workplace matters, strong contractual drafting, advisory and problem-solving skills, as well as an understanding of how to work effectively as part of a complex business and be able to lead and mentor a team. Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills, combined with a commercial, practical approach and strong organisational skills will be critical to your success in this role.
This role involves exposure to all aspects of this innovative business. It would suit an energetic lawyer seeking a broad commercial law role with a successful and highly innovative international business.
