Broad commercial and public law role supporting the Courts Group at CSV.

About the client

Court Services Victoria (CSV) is a body corporate established by statute to provide administrative services and facilities to Victoria’s Courts Group (which includes the Supreme; County; Magistrates’; Children’s and the Coroners Court as well as VCAT, the Judicial College of Victoria and the Judicial Commission of Victoria).

The Legal & Governance group at CSV is an in-house legal team providing legal advice and services across the Courts Group on commercial, administrative law and litigation matters.

About the role

Working in a high-calibre legal team, the VPS 5 Senior Lawyer role will play a crucial role in supporting the legal and governance function of CSV across public law, administrative law and litigation matters. In addition, you will be relied upon to support commercial projects across procurement & IT; manage litigation and complaint matters and advise on complex statutory interpretation issues.

Reporting to an experienced Manager, Legal & Governance, you will work across all business units within the Courts Group and work with key stakeholders to contribute to CSV’s risk management and strategic direction.

About you

If you are an adaptable and practical public law, commercial or litigation expert with at least 3 years’ PQE, please apply now. Strong technical skills, clear communication, and an ability to perform under pressure are all essential attributes for the role.
